A career in Complementary Medicine was an easy transition for someone with a background in Martial Arts and an interest in the Health Sciences. From an early age, A.J. was fascinated by the philosophy and theories associated with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. After studying a Pre-Med Curriculum at Indiana University, A.J. completed his education and training by attaining his 4 year Master’s degree in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Exercise at the prestigious Yo San University in Los Angeles.
A.J. believes that the patient is an important part of the healing process so he stresses corrective exercises and home care advice for long term prevention of disease and maintenance of good health.
A.J.’s specialty is pain management and in addition to his private practice in Murrieta he has been heading the chronic pain acupuncture program at Hemet Valley Recovery Center and Sage Retreat since 2008. He has had the privilege of being mentored by Peter Yuen, LAc, PhD, who has over 40 years experience treating chronic pain patients in several clinical settings such as Loma Linda University Medical Center and Haider Spine Center. Dr. Yuen is also founder of the Loma Linda Back Program.
In addition A.J. is also a regular guest speaker at Holistic Medicine conferences all over the Southwest.
A.J.’s wife Monica’s field of expertise is women’s health and fertility. She is a valuable resource for fertility clinics in San Diego as well as OBGYNs in Temecula and surrounding areas. She has trained with some of the top specialists in her field and is highly regarded.
We look forward to answering any questions you have about how acupuncture can best serve your patients and your practice.
Sincerely,
A.J. & Monica Sarrat
